Silence
I know where silence lives.
Have you ever tasted silence?
The real silence, the pure silence, the fill-me-to-the-brim silence, the silence that stretches across the vastness of the desert and begs you to forget, the silence that echoes from the mountains and calls you home, the silence that hugs the land like a sunrise and gently shakes you awake, the silence that makes the heart sing on a cold snowy night and the silence that brought us here, together.
This is the silence I am talking about, the sweetest one, the daring one that bites you like the fast teeth of a snake on an unexpected night. The silence that holds you close and loves you until you know no more. The silence of the stars, the silence of the moon, mirrored and paitently waiting on the sea. You will know if you've tasted it, you will know where it lives. You will remember its hiding place and all the paths to trod to get there. You will find the fine lines of its map written in your heart and know how to trace them back to their source.
And knowing will shine through your eyes and others will start to recognise, will start to whisper - He-she knows! Knows the silence that radiates like the sun and pleases like a field of flowers. The silence that was, the silence that is. The silence at the center of all being. Endless like the ocean, endless like the sky stretching across the horizon. Endlessly powerful like the beating of a hummingbird's wing, endless like a Condor's flight.
Mysterious like the night, unfathomed like the cosmos. A silence many might find yet only few will ever truly understand. The silence of a lifetime and of eternity. A silence too great to be named, a silence too deep to be understood. A silence like the tender touch of a dragonfly's wings, a silence like the untamed force of a roaring earthquake.
A silence only a few will survive, like the silence after the last breath.
